Get to Know North Nest Immigration

Hello, and welcome! I'm Kellie Rodriguez, and I'd like to share a bit about my journey and why immigration is deeply meaningful to me.

I was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, spending much of my childhood in the vibrant neighborhoods of Inglewood and West Dover.

While I am proudly Canadian, my family’s immigration story began generations ago with my great-grandfather, Joseph Howse Sr. Originally from London, England, Joseph arrived in Canada as an explorer with the Hudson's Bay Company. It was here he met and married my great-grandmother, the daughter of a Cree Chief, laying the foundation for my family's rich Métis heritage.

My ancestral tapestry continued to grow as later generations of my family immigrated from Germany, joining Mennonite farming communities in Manitoba. Others came from Sweden and Norway, all bringing resilience and cultural richness that have profoundly shaped who I am today.

Inspired by my ancestors' courage and resilience, my own immigration journey began when I met my husband, who had traveled from the distant land of Chile. Sponsoring him to become a permanent resident of Canada over twenty years ago, and later sponsoring his son, was a personal experience that deeply connected me to the importance and impact of family immigration. We've since welcomed and assisted numerous family members from South America to visit, work, and build their own stories here in Canada.

My passion for immigration is further fueled by the Blackfoot belief that poverty means being without family, a powerful perspective highlighting the true value of family reunification and immigration. My mission is to assist families in bridging distances and building fulfilling lives together.

In addition to my immigration practice, I am also an experienced commercial realtor, helping business owners buy and sell properties throughout Alberta and British Columbia. My academic background includes a Bachelor of Professional Arts in Governance, Law and Management, and I am currently pursuing an LLB degree from the University of London, continually enriching my professional expertise.

Above all, I cherish the opportunity to hear and share the immigration stories of others. Canada’s extraordinary cultural diversity is a blessing, and through each personal narrative I encounter, I feel as though I travel the world daily, simply by connecting with others.

Thank you for visiting—I look forward to hearing your story and supporting you on your immigration journey.
